Lynn Eschenbacher is the National Director of Pharmacy Operations for Ascension Health, The Resource Group. In this position she is responsible for collaboration and coordination of pharmacy operations across the health-systems. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Dr. Eschenbacher previously worked at Duke University Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist, Clinical Coordinator and Medication Safety Officer, and as the Assistant Director of Clinical Services and Director of the first year pharmacy residency program at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, North Carolina.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana she attended the University of Texas at Austin to obtain her Doctorate of Pharmacy. She then completed a pharmacy practice residency at Parkland Health & Hospitals in Dallas, Texas. Additionally, she completed her Master of Business Administration at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University with a focus in Health Sector Management, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

Dr. Eschenbacher was voted as the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists Acute Care Forum Pharmacist of the Year and one of the 40 under 40 for the Triangle Business Journal. She was awarded the Circle of Excellence award at WakeMed for Market Development and Quality Outcomes. She is a graduate of the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Leadership Academy and served as one of the ASHP House of Delegates representatives for North Carolina. She has served as a member of the Advisory Group on Clinical Leadership, as Chair of the Section’s Advisory Group on Medication Safety, and was Past Chair of the ASHP Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Executive Committee. She was also a member of the Joint Section/Forum PPMI Coordinating Committee

Dr. Eschenbacher has collaborated on the ASHP Statement on the Role of the Medication Safety Leader. She is currently working as the editor of the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator’s Handbook. Dr. Eschenbacher has presented nationally on performance improvement, medication safety, pharmacy involvement in achieving optimal patient outcomes, and the value that pharmacy can provide. She is also active as a volunteer with Urban Ministries Open Door Medical Clinic, as well as a Triangle Business Journal Mentor, and Salvation Army Angel Tree volunteer.
