Nathan's Story

Dr. Cookson completed his Pharm.D. as part of the inaugural class at Husson University School of pharmacy in Bangor, Maine. He was one of two in the first class of residents at MaineGeneral Medical Center's PGY-1 pharmacy residency. He became BCPS certified in 2016, and now works as a clinical pharmacist at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, North Carolina.

Dr. Cookson is a member of the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Section Advisory Group on Small and Rural Hospitals. 

Overview of Facility/Health System

Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a 238 bed hospital that is part of the Cone Health system.

Significant Projects

Dr. Cookson is involved with Rapid Improvement Event (RIE) around missing medications. Pharmacy and nursing representatives worked to develop a standard process for delivering, storing, retrieving, and requesting drug products.
