Jennifer E. Tryon is the Chief Pharmacy Officer at Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) in Detroit, Michigan. As the CPO, she provides overall leadership and strategies related to the design, implementation, and monitoring of Pharmacy programs, along with quality and safety standards. In her role, she leverages the HFHS integrated healthcare delivery model to further integrate Pharmacy Services for system-wide improvements in patient care outcomes

Formerly, Dr. Tryon was the CPO and Residency Program Director for the Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) program at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in North Carolina, and prior to that, the CPO and Director of Graduate Pharmacy Education at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Illinois. In these roles, she optimized the pharmacy footprint to deliver comprehensive care and leading practices. Other pharmacy leadership roles held by Dr. Tryon include the Assistant Director of Pharmacy and PGY1 Residency Program Director at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington, and the Assistant Director at the Oregon Health and Sciences University. Dr. Tryon received her pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa and her M.S. from the University of Wisconsin, where she also completed a two-year Administrative Residency.

Dr. Tryon has served in many national and state leadership roles. She chairs the Autonomous Pharmacy Advisory Board and has a passion for innovative models to advance healthcare. Dr. Tryon is an active member of ASHP and the Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders, having served as member, Vice Chair, and Chair of numerous Section Advisory Groups, the Section’s Committee on Nominations, as well as the Section’s Executive Committee. She has been a delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates, member of the Council on Pharmacy Management, and an appointed member of the Women in Pharmacy Leadership Steering Committee. Dr. Tryon is currently an Associate Faculty member in the ASHP Foundation's Pharmacy Leadership Academy. She is a recognized Fellow of ASHP.
