Greetings and Salutations New Practitioners!
Winter is my favorite time of year. I love the cold, the snow, and the shorter days/longer nights, not to mention the holiday season. There is something to be said for the seasonal ways to stay warm – fireplaces, hot chocolate, and cozy blankets, just to name a few. If you are one that tends to stay indoors during the winter months, perhaps you are looking for a means to stay productive until spring arrives, and ASHP has just the thing to help you.
You have likely heard of a webinar, but are you familiar with ASHP’s different webinar resources? There is an impressive variety of webinars available that touch on just about any subject you may be interested in, many of which also offer continuing education (CE) credit. Precepting a learner in the near future or just want to improve your preceptor abilities? The Preceptor Toolkit offers recorded presentations from the National Pharmacy Preceptors Conference and Midyear Clinical Meeting to provide guidance on the subject. Looking to expand your clinical knowledge? Peruse the ASHP eLearning website, which connects you to past webinars that you can conveniently view around your schedule. There are also live webinars offered through the professional development page which are offered in addition to webinars in specialized areas of pharmacy practice, such as emergency medicine and pediatrics. The leadersEDGE webinar series through the ASHP Foundation discusses a number of timely leadership issues that are actively seen in practice.
Also, we are in the midst of interview season – are you ready? Perhaps you’d like to review Interview Preparation to make sure. Updating your CV is another important aspect of the job search. Watch Transforming your CV as a New Practitioner or Your CV and You for tips on getting the most from this crucial document.
These are just some of the options that ASHP offers to support your professional growth, whether you are planning your next career decision, wanting to learn the latest updates in clinical practice, or developing any of your desired skills. Check out the ASHP website for more information and resources.
