Greetings New Practitioners,
Happy New Year! As you begin to set your goals for 2018, be sure to consider the areas you would like to focus on for your professional development. ASHP and the New Practitioners Forum have many excellent resources available to assist you with professional development in the following areas:
- Career transitions for residents and new practitioners
- Preceptor development
- Board certification preparation and recertification
- Advocacy involvement
- Practice Advancement Initiative
Our five New Practitioners Forum Advisory Groups hosted productive in-person meetings at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting last month to review mid-term progress in their charges pertaining to our Forum’s strategic goals. Our dedicated advisory group members are making great progress in their projects, so be on the lookout for new information, resources, and ASHP Connect posts this spring. Additionally, our Executive Committee met to review a variety of topics, including the upcoming updates to the current ASHP Strategic Plan and the exciting announcement regarding the new Pharmacy Technician Forum.
If you had the opportunity to attend the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, I hope you were able to take advantage of the education, career development, and networking opportunities available. If you attended any of our Resident and New Practitioner Programming or other continuing education, don’t forget to process your CE by January 31, 2018.
Enjoy the New Year!
