Charnae Ross, PharmD., MSHA

Pharmacy Operations Manager

Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center

Reasons for selecting this career path:

My passion to help others combined with my interest in healthcare led me to pursue pharmacy as a career. I have always had an interest in pursuing a leadership role within the profession. Throughout pharmacy school I served in a leadership capacity as President of the Student Society of Health System Pharmacists. My continued interest in leadership led me to pursue formal training through a Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency combined with a Master of Science in Health Administration at VCU Health. After residency, I pursued a position as a pharmacy operations manager at Memorial Hermann Memorial City.

Professional Interests:

  • Practice Advancement
  • Specialty Pharmacy
  • Professional Development
  • Professional Organization Involvement
  • Women’s and Children Services

Interest in the NPF Executive Committee:

My involvement with ASHP began as a member and work group lead of the Pharmacy Student Forum. This experience inspired me to continue my involvement as a new practitioner. Over the course of three years I have served as a member of the Resident Advancement Advisory Group, work group lead of the Clinical Practice Advancement Advisory Group and most recently, Chair of the Career Development Advisory Group. This experience has granted me the opportunity to network with pharmacists across the country. Being a part of the New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee is an opportunity to inspire and motivate new practitioners while advocating for the profession of pharmacy on a large scale.

Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner:

Involvement with ASHP is an opportunity to network, foster personal and professional growth and advocate for the pharmacy profession. Involvement as a New Practitioner will provide pharmacists within five years of graduating the opportunity to share innovative ideas and give back to the profession on a national level.
