Book Correction Notice for 'Handbook on Injectable Drugs, Ninth Edition'

Please note that two errors have been found in the Handbook on Injectable Drugs, ninth edition (published in June 1996).

  1. The first error is in the dexamethasone sodium phosphate monograph dosage section on page 321, first full paragraph, second sentence. This sentence should read as follows:

Intravenous doses of 150 mcg/kg four times daily for four days have been given for meningitis (4).

  2. The second error is in the amiodarone HCl monograph dosage section on page 66, first paragraph, fifth and sixth sentences. These sentences should read as follows:

This loading dose is followed by a slow infusion of 360 mg over the next six hours at a rate of 1 mg/min using a solution of 900 mg amiodarone HCl in 500 ml of dextrose 5% in water. The balance of the solution is then given as a maintenance infusion of 540 mg at a rate of 0.5 mg/min over the following 18 hours.

Please mark these corrections in your Handbook. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. ?
