Directors Can Use Tech Exam to Help Prepare for JCAHO Visits

Katherine M. Bennett

The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) national exam can be helpful to pharmacy directors in preparing for a visit by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), according to PTCB Executive Director Melissa M. Murer. Pharmacy directors can use the exam to verify the credentials and document the competencies of the pharmacy technicians based on tasks assigned, Murer said. For more information, visit the board's Web site at www.ptcb.org.

Santell, M.S., published in the Jan. 15 issue of the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy.
