American Red Cross Offers Disaster Response Material

Linda R. Harteker

Help your patients and community prepare for natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and flooding, by using material from the American Red Cross.

Disaster preparedness materials are available in several foreign languages and English. Some of the material is specific for people with special needs, such as the hearing impaired and people who use life support systems. Material is also available for people with disabilities.

To help children who live in areas of the country where natural disasters tend to occur, the organization has grade-appropriate disaster safety curriculum for use by teachers of schoolchildren in kindergarten through grade 2, grades 3 through 5, and grades 6 through 8.

Volunteers are welcome. Fill out a form for responding to disasters, or contact the local branch of the American Red Cross.
