ASHP Wins Dual Awards for Corporate, Pharmacy Recruiting Web Sites

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) has received awards for its Web site, www.ashp.org, as well as a new recruiting and job search resource for pharmacists and pharmacy employers, www.CareerPharm.com. The Golden Web Awards, which are sponsored by the International Association of Webmasters and Designers, are presented to “sites whose design, originality, and content have achieved levels of excellence deserving of recognition.”

In 2002, ASHP updated the design, content, and navigation tools of its corporate Web site to better meet the changing needs of the Society’s members and the pharmacy profession. The site, www.ashp.org, now features custom views, member-only sections, and helpful “quick links.”

The Society launched www.CareerPharm.com in spring 2003 to provide both pharmacy job seekers and employers with the essential tools to successfully find or fill a position. The site offers industry-standard recruiting and job search tools, including a personalized management center that allows users to follow the progress of their search for jobs and candidates and a resource center featuring articles on job-search strategies, leadership development, and financial management.

ASHP is the 30,000-member national professional association that represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, ambulatory care clinics, long-term care facilities, home care, and other components of health care systems. ASHP, which has a long history of medication-error prevention efforts, believes that the mission of pharmacists is to help people make the best use of medicines.  Assisting pharmacists in fulfilling this mission is ASHP's primary objective.  The Society has extensive publishing and educational programs designed to help members improve their professional practice, and it is the national accrediting organization for pharmacy residency and pharmacy technician training programs.
