Members of ASHP Sections Select Leaders

ASHP members have selected the following persons to serve on the executive committees of the Society's Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists; Section of Home, Ambulatory, and Chronic Care Practitioners; and Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers.

ASHP Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists
Rita K. Jew, Pharm.D., is pharmacy clinical coordinator, clinical specialist in neonatology and director of the pediatric specialty residency at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  She holds faculty appointments at three Philadelphia-area universities: Temple University, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, and the University of Pennsylvania.  Jew is also a Board Member-at-Large of the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists and is immediate past president of the Delaware Valley Society of Health-System Pharmacists. 

William L. Greene, Pharm.D., BCPS, FASHP, is director of clinical pharmacy services and director of the pharmacy practice residency at Methodist Healthcare-University Hospitals in Memphis, Tenn. He holds part-time faculty appointments at the colleges of pharmacy at the University of Tennessee and the University of Mississippi. 

 Michael D. Katz, Pharm.D., is associate professor of Pharmacy Practice and Science and coordinator of international education at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in Tucson.  He is also a clinical specialist in internal medicine and a residency preceptor at the University Medical Center. 

Jew's term as chair-elect begins immediately.  Greene will serve a one-year term and Katz will serve a two-year term, both beginning in 2004.


ASHP Section of Home, Ambulatory, and Chronic Care Practitioners
Mary Ann Kliethermes, Pharm.D., is manager of Refill 10 Ambulatory Clinic, a pharmacy-based medication management clinic at the University of Illinois and vice-president of Clinical Pharmacy Systems, Inc., in Elmhurst, Ill.  She is the director of the education committee of the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists and is a state delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates.

Cathy L. Sasser, is home care pharmacy manager with the WellStar Health System in Atlanta. 

M. Sharm Steadman, Pharm.D., BCPS, FASHP, CDE, is professor of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine (USC) and director of Pharmacotherapy Education at the USC/Palmetto Health Family Practice Residency Program, both in Columbia. 

Kliethermes' term as chair-elect begins immediately.  Sasser will serve a one-year term and Steadman will serve a two-year term, both beginning in 2004.


ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers
Paul W. Bush, Pharm.D., M.B.A., FASHP, is director of pharmacy services and clinical assistant dean at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  He also serves as program director for a pharmacy practice management residency.  Bush is currently a director-at-large for the Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers and is chair of the Professional Affairs Committee of the South Carolina Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

 Scott M. Mark, Pharm.D., M.S., is director of pharmacy at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.  He is also an assistant professor at the colleges of pharmacy at Howard University and the University of Maryland.  Mark is president of the Washington Metropolitan Society of Health-System Pharmacists and is secretary of the Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacists. 

 Edward Stemley, Pharm.D., M.S., is administrative director of pharmacy at the Harris County Hospital District in Houston.

Christene M. Jolowsky, M.S., is director of pharmacy at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., and system director for pharmacy clinical services for Allina Hospitals and Clinics.

Bush will serve a two-year and Mark will serve a three-year term, both beginning immediately.  Stemley will serve a one-year term and Jolowsky will serve a two-year term, both beginning in 2004.
