Ways to Promote the National Pharmacy Week

National Pharmacy Week is a time to recognize the significant contributions pharmacists and pharmacy technicians make to the healthcare team and their leadership in ensuring that the patients at your hospital and health system receive optimal outcomes from their medications. Use the tools below to highlight your organization’s pharmacy team and share their work with patients, other health professionals, and the community.

Get the Word Out
  • Virtual Meet and Greet

    Use virtual platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams to invite patients and their caregivers to meet your pharmacy staff and ask questions about their medication therapies. Promote the event on your organization’s social media channels and throughout your hospital.
  • State Proclamation

    Request a proclamation from your governor or local elected official(s) to declare to declare October 15-21 as National Pharmacy Week. Share a photo of the signing on social media with the hashtags #pharmacyweek and #pharmacystrong.
  • Share the Video: Who’s the Medication Expert in the White Coat?

    Pharmacists are medication experts who can help you manage conditions like diabetes and heart disease. This animated video explains the ways pharmacist work with physicians and nurses to care for patients in hospitals and clinics, and how pharmacists help you take your medications safely. Share the video on your hospital’s television network.
  • Get Social

    Make sure that people know about Pharmacy Week in your organization. Download our Pharmacy Week resources and share them through your social channels and on your digital signs.

  • Ways to Celebrate

    Although your pharmacy team may be working from a various locations this year, here are some tips from your colleagues from across the country to make your 2023 Pharmacy Week a success. 
  • Pharmacy Week Gifts

    Give your staff a pat on the back! Mugs, t-shirts, bags, and other gifts can go a long way to show your pharmacy team that you appreciate their work. You'll also want to make sure that you have giveaways on hand, such as posters, pens, banners, and buttons that illustrate the role pharmacists play on the healthcare team.
  • Host a Gathering

    Cater a lunch or celebration for your pharmacy team to show your appreciation for their contributions to the team.
