Advanced Role Description:
As the IDS technician specialist, expected responsibilities will include: managing the clinical investigational drug inventory/receipt/return/destruction; providing technical direction and assistance with the protocols; performing drug distribution functions; maintaining and assisting with record keeping; performing workload metrics to provide justification of services; delivering education and training; meeting with study monitors; study drug preparation, preparing invoices and conducting billing. This position also requires cross-functional and other duties and responsibilities consistent with the job classification. The IDS technician specialist job responsibilities also include working with principal investigators, research coordinators, and study sponsors providing services that include: investigational drug ordering and receiving; maintaining drug inventory and patient dispensing records; ensuring secure storage; labeling and packaging of study drug for patient use; randomization; drug destruction; and billing. All of this done under the supervision of a pharmacist.
