Reasons for selecting this career path

I started working as a pharmacy technician while in college to become a teacher and realized that the trend for technician growth could afford me substantial opportunities if I stuck with pharmacy. I enjoy the diversity in roles that is afforded to technicians and have worked outpatient, inpatient, and administrative positions.

Professional Interests

My professional commitments are to training and education, technician advancement, and medication safety. As technicians continue to take on more and more responsibility it is important that training and education requirements keep pace in order to maintain a safe environment for our patients.

Interest in the PTF Executive Committee

My work last year on the Educational Steering Committee opened my eyes to the excellent and broad work being done by the members of the PTF. The Executive Committee allows me to directly support our members across the advisory groups and Educational Steering Committee.

Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a Pharmacy Technician

Being an ASHP pharmacy technician member affords a whole host of professional development benefits. The ability to network, get involved with committee work, and leverage technician specific resources is unmatched in terms of professional organizations. On top of all that, the CE catalog provides all of the continuing education I need to renew my certification.

Fun Fact

I am passionate about food and enjoy exploring Boston (and everywhere else!) looking for the best eats.
