Reasons for selecting this career path
When I first started it was just a job. I did not think that 20 years later I would still be in pharmacy, nor would I be on the path to advocating for pharmacy technicians and showing others how this can be a rewarding career.
Professional Interests
Technician training; controlled substance diversion; professional organization leadership advancement.
Interest in the PTF Executive Committee
I was excited to hear about the Pharmacy Technician Forum when it first went live and I was also excited that the PTF had an Executive Committee. I have served on several ASHP advisory groups over the years and I wanted to advance further in ASHP.
Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a Pharmacy Technician
I think that networking is the #1 benefit of being involved with ASHP. I have met so many people from diverse backgrounds and workforce differences. I like that I can collaborate with others from different states and different sized hospitals and take information back to my leadership that they may have implemented to improve our workflow.
Fun Fact
I never miss a Wisconsin Badger football game. No matter where I am or what I am doing, I will have it on and I typically will plan my Saturdays around when the game is on.
