SPEAKERS
Deborah Wagner, PharmD, FASHP, is a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy and Anesthesiology for the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and Michigan Medicine Medical School, as well as the Pediatric Safety Coordinator for the Children’s and Women’s Hospital at Michigan Medicine. She completed her B.S. and PharmD degree at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. Dr. Wagner has worked with ISMP on the perioperative safety initiative, the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation, and the ASHP Standardize 4 Safety Campaign. She is a past member of the ASHP Medication Safety task force and co-author of the ASHP Guidelines on Perioperative Pharmacy Services. She currently chairs the Michigan Medicine Pediatric Medication Safety Committee.
Rachel Meyers is a Clinical Professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, and the Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Dr. Meyers provides both didactic and experiential education in pediatric pharmacotherapy for pharmacy students and residents. Her research interests include pediatric dosage forms and medication safety for children. She practices in both the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and General Pediatric Unit at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
Mary Ann Kliethermes, PharmD, FASHP received a BS in pharmacy from the University of Michigan (1977) and Doctor of Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (1981). Her 45 year clinical practice includes hospital, home infusion, ambulatory practice and academia. Currently she is Director of Medication Safety and Quality at ASHP. Her expertise is pharmacist reimbursement, medication optimization, safety and quality, and new healthcare models and payment systems.
