Hajer Ibrahim was part of a pharmacist-led 10-session Transgender Men Health Education Group integrating gender-affirming and mental health topics was created. In the episode, she shares her team-based approach to caring for this patient populations and identifying mental health barriers to receiving care.

SPEAKERS

Cassie HeffernHajer G. Ibrahim, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, APh currently practices as a Clinical Psychatric and Mental Health Pharmacist at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center in San Jose, CA where she is also the PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program Coordinator. She has a passion for mental health and LGBTQIA+ care and is an advocate for both respectively. She also enjoys teaching, precepting, and mentoring pharmacy trainees. Her research includes evaluating outcomes long-acting injectable antipsychotics and transgender healthcare and mental health outcomes.

Vicki BasalygaVicki Basalyga, PharmD, MAS, BCPS, BCPPS is the Director of Member Relations for the Clinical Specialists and Scientists at ASHP. In addition to her Director role, Vicki assists in clinical policy development as the Secretary for the Council on Therapeutics, serves as a representative for ASHP on numerous national clinical initiatives and works with members to create essential tools and resources for leaders, practitioners and educators.
