This three-part podcast series is a follow up to the June 2022 ASHP continuing education webinar, “Things Not Often Taught in School: Embracing Vulnerable Populations in Ambulatory Care”. Each podcast series will feature one webinar speaker with additional information about working with the medically underserved, refugees & immigrants, and sexual & gender minorities.

SPEAKERS

Alex MillsAlex Mills, PharmD, BCACP, AAHIVP is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist and credentialed HIV Pharmacist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He earned his PharmD from Purdue University in 2017, completed a PGY1 community-based residency with Walgreens and Purdue in Indiana, then completed by a PGY2 specializing in ambulatory care with The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy (also known as Ole Miss). He is currently faculty at the University of Mississippi and specializes in HIV primary care and LGBTQ+ Health.

Margie PadillaMargie Padilla, PharmD, CDCES, BCACP received her PharmD degree from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. She completed a residency in primary care with the University of Texas at Austin/Blackstock Family Practice. She currently works as a Clinical Professor with The University of Texas at El Paso School of Pharmacy and Adjunct Assistant Professor with Department of Family and Community Medicine at TTUHSC Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.

Dr. Padilla began her service to vulnerable populations almost 16 years ago. She has been working on advancing the scope of chronic disease management, medication therapy management, and immunization adherence in predominantly Hispanic community health care settings.
