Linda Gore Martin

Linda Gore Martin is Professor Emeritus of Social and Administrative Pharmacy at the University of Wyoming.  She retired as the Dean of the School of Pharmacy in January 2016, and currently is working on special projects as well as practicing at the Downtown Clinic in Laramie. 

Dr. Martin received her B.S.Pharm. and M.B.A. degrees at the University of Wyoming and her Pharm.D. degree at Creighton University School of Pharmacy. She has over 40 years of experience in pharmacy practice and education. She had 25 years in drug information practice before transitioning to teaching drug information, research design, statistics, administration and pharmacoeconomics. Her experience includes inpatient, long-term care and ambulatory care, and professional interests include pharmacoeconomics and outcomes, special populations, health policy, quality, technology, and education assessment.

Dr. Martin has served ASHP, Wyoming Society of Health-System Pharmacy, and the University of Wyoming Student Chapter of ASHP for most of her career.  She has been an active member of ASHP for 40 years and helped establish the Wyoming Society of Health-System Pharmacy (WSHP). Dr. Martin has served as WSHP President, on the Board of Directors and twelve years as the Secretary-Treasurer. She was faculty liaison and advisor for the student chapter for 30 years until her retirement in 2016. She has also served in the ASHP House of Delegates since 1993. She is currently a member of the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists (SCSS) Advisory Group on Clinical Leadership.  She has recently been appointed as the SCSS Network Facilitator for Clinical Leadership. She previously served as Co-Chair of the Credentialing and Privileging Resource Center development project. She is Chair of the AACP Taskforce on Health Information Technology, a member of the Pharmacy Quality Alliance Academic Committee, and the FIP Taskforce on Pharmacy Education Competencies.  She has served on the PSAP and the International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy editorial boards, and as a BPS pharmacotherapy item-writer.  She has received the APhA Bowl of Hygeia award and both Wyoming Pharmacist of the Year and Hospital Pharmacist of the Year awards from WPhA.
