Reason for the Shortage

    • Akorn ceased operations in February 2023.
    • Lifestar has phenylephrine ophthalmic solution on shortage due to increased demand.
    • Sandoz is no longer marketing phenylephrine ophthalmic solution.

Available Products

    • There is insufficient supply for usual ordering

Estimated Resupply Dates

    • Bausch Health has 10% phenylephrine 5 mL bottles on back order and the company estimates a release date of early-July 2023. There are short-dated 2.5% phenylephrine 10 mL bottles available with an expiration date of April 2024.
    • Lifestar has 2.5% phenylephrine 2 mL bottles and 10% phenylephrine 5 mL bottles on back order and the company estimates a release date of early-June 2023.
