February 2022

Hello New Practitioners!

We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to hit the ground running into the New Year.  With a fresh start and reignited energy, this is a good time to reflect on last year’s milestones, to create new personal and professional goals, and to visualize the upcoming year’s accomplishments.  So what are YOUR new year’s resolutions?

How about being a mentor?  Our Mentor Match program helps connect mentees with other pharmacy professionals from all around the world.  Members have used this program to expand their network, establish new professional connections, seek career navigation and advancement advice, and share pharmacy practice experiences.  Get matched today!

Or how about evolving your precepting skills?  Explore the ASHP Preceptor Toolkit for resources on preceptor development, including student specific preceptor resources and residency specific preceptor resources.

Is your new year’s resolution to be more involved with ASHP NPF?  Learn more about our many NPF Advisory Groups that provide advice and guidance to the Forum regarding the unique needs of new practitioner members and how these needs might be addressed.  Applications opens soon in February and the deadline to apply is May 1.

While we are always striving to take care of our patients, make it a standing resolution to also take care of yourself.  Explore the ASHP Well-Being and Resilience Resources page, listen to a Well-Being Wednesday podcast, and/or download your free subscription to Headspace.

Remember that we are always here to support your resolutions!  Connect with us on our NPF Connect Community, follow us on our NPF Twitter, or reach out at [email protected].  The Executive Committee welcomes your comments and suggestions on what other resources you would like to see us offer to help achieve your goals.  We wish you the best this New Year and cannot wait to see what we can accomplish together.
