NPF Executive Committee Message August 2023

Justin Moore, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP

August 2023

Hi there, New Practitioners!

Welcome to ASHP's home for the future of pharmacy! We're gearing up for an exciting year ahead within the New Practitioners Forum, where we're all about fostering a strong sense of community and supporting each other's growth both professionally and personally. Our aim is to promote authentic leadership and bold ideas, advance pharmacist-led care, and create an inclusive environment where you can find your professional home.

NPF is a diverse community, comprised of early career pharmacists, from recent grads (congrats Class of 2023!) to seasoned new practitioners within 5 years of graduation. We have six advisory groups with over 100 new practitioner volunteers, all dedicated to supporting the unique needs of early career pharmacists. These groups focus on career development, clinical practice, member engagement, personal growth, practice advocacy, and resident advancement, providing valuable tools to help you succeed.

Throughout the year, our dedicated Advisory Group members will be developing resources and opportunities tailored to your needs, available on the New Practitioner Resources page. From networking and career advancement to mentoring and preceptor development, we've got you covered! ASHP is here to support you at every stage of your career, and we're excited to be a part of your professional journey, providing a network where you can make connections and find your niche in pharmacy.

Big congrats to all our advisory group members and chairs on their appointments! I'm really excited to see the amazing work we'll achieve together this year!

Stay up to date with the latest info by following the New Practitioners Forum Twitter page or NewsLink emails. And remember, your voice matters! Don't hesitate to share your thoughts, ideas, or suggestions with the NPF Executive Committee through email or ASHP Connect. Your input helps us make this community even better.

Looking forward to an incredible year together!

Best,
