In this podcast we briefly highlight some aspects of pharmacy services in tribal and indigenous settings. The speakers here describe their experiences and answer some questions about this unique area of service.

Courtney Redwing, PharmD is a Dakota Oyate member of a registered tribe from the Great Plains area. She was born and raised in Moorhead MN and attended NDSU School of Pharmacy where she graduated in 2013. During those years she did multiple rotations at several IHS service units and started her career at a 638 Tribally Run Facility. She is honored to extend her expertise and experiences with others in hope of advancing our understanding of pharmacy as it relates to the Native/Indigenous people.
Jessica Lyerly, PharmD, BCPS is an advanced practice pharmacist for Sacred Peaks Health Center, a tribal facility for Native Americans in Flagstaff, Arizona. She works primarily with native patients in an ambulatory care capacity focusing on a variety chronic disease states. She is most interested in working for underserved and hard to reach populations through FQHC organizations and public health service commitments, in addition to advocacy through state pharmacy legislation for the advancement of pharmacy.
Becky Magee, PharmD, BCACP is a clinical pharmacist tasked with diabetes management at North Country HealthCare, which is a Federally Qualified Health Center and safety-net provider across Northern Arizona. Previously, Becky was a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service and worked within the Indian Health Service for 12 years. She spent 8 years working in Ketchikan with the Haida, Tlingit, and Tsimshian tribes of Alaska, and another 4 years with the Navajo and Hopi tribes of Northern Arizona. She is committed to a career serving marginalized and underrepresented communities.
Erin Sherwin, PharmD, BCACP, CPP is a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner at Novant Health Family Medicine in Wilmington, North Carolina. She is a new practitioner, recently completing her PGY2 in ambulatory care at University of Kentucky HealthCare in 2022. This is her second year serving on the ASHP Special Advisory Group on Medication Management Services.
