In a sneak peek for the Midyear 2022, Gift Neweke from the SCSS Advisory Group on Emerging Sciences sits down with some of the can’t miss educational session presenters to discuss what attendees can hope to about new and emerging areas of practice.

SPEAKERS

Donald MooreDonald Moore, PharmD, BCPS, BCOP, DPLA, FCCP is the hematology/oncology clinical pharmacy manager at Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Steward St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He has been a member of ASHP’s Emerging Sciences Section Advisory Group since 2018 and recently served as the Hematology/Oncology Roundtable Discussion Leader at the 2021 Midyear Clinical Meeting.

Kate TaucherKate Taucher, PharmD, MHA, BCOP, FASHP is the System Manager for Oncology and Infusion Pharmacy Services with UCHealth. She is also the PGY2 Oncology Residency Program Director for UCHealth Memorial Hospital.

She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007 and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 2011. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Oncology Residency, both at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Finally, she completed her Masters in Health Care Administration with a specialization in Health Care Leadership through Capella University in 2017.

Carolyn OxencisCarolyn Oxencis, PharmD, BCOP is a clinical pharmacy specialist at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center. Dr. Oxencis is a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the MCW School of Pharmacy. She is a member of the ASHP Council on Therapeutics, and a member and Past Chair of the ASHP Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists Section Advisory Group on Emerging Sciences.

Gift NwekeGift Nweke, PharmD, MS, BCPS, DPLA is a system pharmacy manager at Novant Health. She supports formulary management by leveraging pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research and variation analysis. Other areas of leadership include resident and student development programs along with training programs for pharmacists and technicians. Gift earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Texas Southern University and completed a combined PGY1/PGY2/MS residency and graduate program in health system administration at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and the University of Houston.
